Akihiko Usami (宇佐見 秋彦 ,Usami Akihiko?) is a twenty-eight year old
popular author of fiction and erotic boys love novels, and the youngest
recipient of the distinguished Naomori Award. His nickname is "Usagi",
which means "rabbit" in Japanese. Usagi is Misaki's tutor for the
upcoming entrance exams, and a very close friend of Takahiro (he, in
fact, harbored an unrequited love for Takahiro for a long time). He and
Hiroki were childhood friends. Shortly after meeting Misaki, he finds
that Takahiro has gotten engaged. Seeing how upset this makes Misaki on

Shirō is the main character of the story, a serious and honest
teenager as well as a hard worker who enjoys helping others. He is in
his second year of High School, and his hobbies include fixing a
variety of broken things, from VCRs to stoves, as well as cooking and
cleaning. He has some slight proficiency with reinforcement sorcery,
though his foster father Kiritsugu Emiya
did not encourage him to improve it. Initially, he is confused about
the Holy Grail War and irrationally attempts to shield others, even his
own servant Saber, from danger.

Sebastian Michaelis (セバスチャン・ミカエリス ,Sebasuchan Mikaerisu?) is the
series' protagonist. He is the butler of the Phantomhive household and
Ciel's bodyguard, two jobs he is completely devoted to. He is highly
skilled in any area and handles every task, no matter how impossible it
is, as well as any problem that arises from the errors of the other
staff with ease, stating it is only natural as the butler to the
Phantomhive family. This is due to the fact he is a demon bound by a
"contract" to abide by Ciel's will. A sign similar to the one marking
Ciel's right eye can be found on his left hand. The name Sebastian is
in fact a temporary name given to him by Ciel and previously held by
Ciel's dog.

Rin Tōsaka (遠坂 凛, Tōsaka Rin?)
A model student and idol of Shirō's
school who is secretly a sorceress and Master in the Holy Grail War.
She is a descendant from a long line of sorcerers, and though she lacks
a formal magic education, she is extremely powerful in her own right.
Her father was killed in the fourth Holy Grail War, and she has trained
since his death to succeed him. She is perceptive, resourceful and
avidly competitive. She tried to summon a Saber-class Servant, but she
accidentally called Archer instead.

minimizes her activity to preserve what she has. Saber is bewildered by Shirō's
"protective" tendencies, and believes his erratic and reckless behavior

Misaki Takahashi (高橋 美咲 ,Takahashi Misaki?) is the 18 (19 in episode 8
of Junjo Romantica) year old younger brother of Takahiro. At the start
of the series, Misaki is about to sit for his college entrance
examinations. His dream is to go to Mitsuhashi University since that
was the college his brother dropped out of so that he could begin
taking care of Misaki after their parents died. Although seemingly
childish and brash, Misaki is later revealed to be a person who is
simply adamant on insisting against doing anything that might be
troublesome for anyone else. This is due to the fact that he still
blames himself for his parent's death (believing that if he had not
asked them to hurry home, they would not have sped in the rain and
crashed). Misaki and Usami eventually begin a relationship together
which puzzles Misaki, who is unconfident about his feelings towards the
older man.

Ciel Phantomhive (シエル・ファントムハイヴ ,Shieru
Fantomuhaivu?) is the business-savvy, twelve-year-old head of the
English Phantomhive noble family, taking over after the deaths of his
parents. He also runs a company that manufactures toys and sweets. His
right eye, which is usually covered with a black eyepatch, bears a
pentacle sign of contract which binds the demon Sebastian Michaelis to
his will. He also has a symbol burned into his back during the time he
was traded around as a slave before Sebastien saved him, which is
something he does not like for others to see. It is suggested that he
ultimately looks at Sebastian as a knight, like in a chess game. He is
close to his cousin and fiancée Elizabeth, seeing her as an important
friend and someone he needs to protect. Although he is usually
portrayed as emotionless, it is revealed that he does not want to lose
anything important to him again. Ciel once owned a dog named Sebastian,
but lost him along with his parents in a fire.

Archer (アーチャー, Āchā?)
He is the Servant of one of the series' main
heroines, Rin Tōsaka. Due to an incomplete summon, he apparently has no
memory of his previous life or identity. Archer is sarcastic and
cynical - but under his hardened exterior lies a complex and dark
personality that unfolds throughout the story. Though skilled with
ranged weapons, he can hold his own in mêlée combat. Archer considers
Shirō Emiya's idealism to be weak and delusional, recognizing Shirō's
mentality of "wanting to save everyone" as naïve and impossible.

Kakashi Hatake

Kakashi Hatake (はたけ カカシ, Hatake Kakashi?) - where Kakashi is literally Japanese for "scarecrow" - is the leader of Team 7 and the sensei of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. Kishimoto had originally intended for Kakashi to be introduced earlier in the series than he actually was, and created him as an easygoing person that would be able to keep the members of Team 7 in check.Kakashi treats his leadership position with a detached manner, and is consistently late to meetings as a result. In a gaiden on Kakashi's past, this is shown to be the result of an incident in which he witnessed the death of one of his teammates, Obito Uchiha, who gave Kakashi his Sharingan eye and imparted many of his habits, including his tardiness. With Obito's Sharingan, Kakashi has amassed a reputation as a skilled and powerful ninja, earning the moniker "Copy Ninja Kakashi" (コピー忍者のカカシ, Kopī Ninja no Kakashi?).Although he mentors all three members of Team 7 early in the series, he concentrates on training Sasuke as the series continues, teaching him his Chidori technique; however, he is unable to prevent Sasuke from leaving the village to seek Orochimaru for greater power. Kakashi's seiyū in the Japanese anime is Kazuhiko Inoue, and his English voice actor is Dave Wittenberg.

Neji Hyuga

Neji Hyuga (日向 ネジ, Hyūga Neji?) is a member of Team Guy and a child prodigy of the Hyuga clan. Despite his natural talent, Neji's membership in one of the clan's lower houses leaves him ineligible to learn the clan's most secret techniques. At the start of the series, Neji openly hates the main house because of this, readily attacking its members verbally or physically when given the chance. At this point in the series, Neji believes in a fatalistic philosophy: that one's destiny is inescapable and that a weak person will always be weak. After being defeated in battle by Naruto Uzumaki, a character that has proven his "destiny" wrong by getting stronger, Neji has a change of heart. He abandons the idea of a predetermined fate, and resolves to get strong enough to never lose a battle. He also tries to remedy the estranged relations between himself and the members of the main house, resulting in his training with the leader of the main house at the end of Part I.

In Part 2 of the Naruto series, Neji plays a less important role. Neji has become a Jonin and has now reached almost the full potential of the Hyuga Kekkai Genkai. He only goes on a single mission with Naruto in an attempt to save Gaara of the Desert.

Neji plays an important role in the first Naruto Shippuden movie. He leads the squad to escort lady Shion to seal the demon Morio.

Neji displays his title as a prodigy of the Hyuga throughout the series; when first introduced he is highly proficient with the Gentle Fist style of combat, with which he can directly attack an opponent's internal systems. Though never actually trained in the form, Neji has been able to replicate it and its most powerful attacks through simple observation. As the series progresses, Neji refines these abilities into more powerful counterparts, either to increase their potency or to fix an inherent flaw. One such example is his Byakugan, an eye technique that by default grants the owner a near-360-degree field of vision within a fifty meter radius. Neji constantly trains to overcome a small blindspot and to increase the Byakugan's range of sight. In the Japanese anime, his seiyū is Kōichi Tōchika, and when he is featured as a child, he is voiced by Keiko Nemoto. His voice in the English anime is provided by Steve Staley, and Wendee Lee provides his child voice.

Jōji "George" Koizumi (小泉譲二, Koizumi Jōji?)
George is an eccentric, handsome, and extremely charismatic student of Yazagaku who has extraordinary talent with a gift for fashion design, haute couture in particular. Despite his cold demeanor, he has extravagant ideas on everything, most of which are not accepted by the general public. He wants Yukari to become an independent woman, as well as a girl that will take responsibility for her own mistakes. His appearance is loosely based on Brian Slade of Velvet Goldmine, and several references to the film are made by him in the manga. He has distinctive blue hair and eyes, making Yukari humorously question if he is an alien. The lifestyle that he lives is top-notch; he lives in a loft apartment and drives a vintage Jaguar, but because his mother was merely a mistress, he rarely sees his father. Regardless, his mother dryly complains that he looks and acts just like him. At the end of the series, it is shown that he has designed the costumes for a Broadway show. He is 18 years old.
